The American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine, the largest sports medicine affiliate of the American Podiatric Medical Association, was pleased to present American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine/National Athletic Trainers Association Excellence in Athletic Training Award for 2. Kevin Johnson. Johnson for his meritorious service in the field of podiatric sports medicine and athletic training during the National Athletic Trainers’ Association annual meeting held last month in Houston, Texas. Mr. Johnson has over 2. NBA’s Philadelphia 7. He joined the Sixers organization at the beginning of the 2.
Prior to joining the NBA ranks, Johnson served as an assistant athletic trainer for the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts. Johnson graduated from Indiana State University in 1. Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, with a specialization in Athletic Training. He is also certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Performance Enhancement Specialist and a Corrective Exercise Specialist.
In 2. 00. 1, Johnson served as the head athletic trainer for the Eastern Conference All- Star team. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine along with residents and fellows attending the Midwest Podiatry Conference in Chicago.
AAPSM President's Visit to Kent State. AAPSM President Amol Saxena, DPM, recently visited with students at Kent State University, lectured to Dr. Larry Di. Domenico's residency program in Youngstown, and the Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Center in Columbus. In addition, he participated in the Joint Commission on Sports Medicine and Science, creating more opportunities for members of AAPSM to be involved in sports medicine. In April, Dr. Saxena plans to visit with podiatry students from NYCPM, CSPM and Scholl Colleges.
AAPSM Munich Meeting a Success 2. AAPSM/Western Munich meeting a success. This year’s meeting featured AAPSM members Amol Saxena, John Grady, Lou Galli & Todd Obrien (Saxena’s first Fellow) in Munich Germany December 2- 3. US attendees aged in age from 3. Maine to Hawaii. The meeting was also attended by Japanese Orthopedic surgeons and a Czech Neurologist who changed his focus to podiatry.
A special workshop on ESWT and a new technology called “EMTT” was conducted by Prof. Ludger Gerdesmeyer.

Dr. Rob Conenello (pictured above, left) and Dr. Mark Cucuzzella (pictured above, right) recently gave a talk at The Running Event titled . Cucuzzella is a primary care Physician in West Virginia who treats runners and gears his practice towards helping people be healthier through exercise. Conenello is a Past President of the AAPSM practicing in Orangeburg, NY.

Helping patients manage an orthotic device can be challenging, but doing so in the face of uneven terrain is a balancing act between stability, mobility, and strength. Device adjustments and rehabilitation pro.
But uneven terrain can also apply to changes in indoor flooring—such as from tile to wood, or from a low- pile carpet to a plusher one—or to other flooring fixtures, such as doorway thresholds.
